Helen arrived to Glasgow University through India and London, where she earned a diploma and a master's degree in social work. She has over 10 years of experience as a criminal justice social worker, the most of which she spent at HMP Barlinnie, where she assisted in the release of violent offenders. Sergio Casci, a screenwriter, is her husband, and they have two children.
