Growing Tree Fruits by Bonham Bazeley

Home-grown fruit has become more popular as new techniques of training make it possible even for gardeners with limited space to grow at least one fruit tree. Current anxiety about chemical sprays on commercially-produced fruit has also encouraged home growers. In this book the author has written a practical guide to all the varieties of fruit trees that the amateur gardener might wish to grow. As well as sections on traditional favourites, he also mentions more exotic fruit such as apricots, medlars, figs and peaches. Bonham Bazeley was for many years managing director of Highfield Nurseries, specialist growers of a wide range of hardy plants including fruit trees. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Horticultural Society and a Fellow of the Institute of Horticulture. He is a member of the BBC's Central Agricultural Advisory Committee and has appeared on Gardener's World.
