Guiding Young Children in a Diverse Society by Ann M Gordon

One of the early childhood professional's greatest challenges is understanding and appropriately handling children's behavior. This unique book is aimed at encouraging students to build their own personal theory of discipline based on the understanding of good guidance principles and the development of young children, and the cultural issues they bring to the early childhood setting. The authors' approach is practical, yet they draw from all the major theories of child development in providing the techniques and strategies designed to help the reader be both effective and positive in his/her discipline practices.
ANN GORDON has been involved with Dachshunds for more than 40 years. During 20 of those years, she bred and showed standard smooth Dachshunds in conformation competition under the kennel name of Ravenridge. In 1969, she was licensed by the American Kennel Club to judge Dachshunds and has judged throughout the United States and Canada. She is also licensed to judge Basset Hounds. Over the years, she has had the honor to judge at four of the Dachshund Club of America's national specialty shows. Not long after she became involved in Dachshunds, Ann became a member of the Dachshund Club of America. Over the many years that she has been a member of this organization, she has served in the capacity of 2nd Vice-President, 1st Vice-President, and as a member of the Board of Directors, a position in which she presently serves. Ann is the Dachshund breed columnist for the AKC Gazette and has been writing the column for the past 17 years.
