Guy Gibson by Richard Morris

Guy Gibson was one of the outstanding pilots and leaders of World War II. He is best known for his organization of the attack on the Moehne and Eden Dams in 1943 but his operational career spanned the greater part of the conflict starting the day after the outbreak of war and continuing with only brief intervals until a rest was enforced upon him after the Dams raid. In the summer of 1944 he resumed occasional operational flying. He was shot down in September 1944 and buried in Holland, where he is still widely remembered. This is his story.

Richard Morris is an Associate Professor in Northern Illinois University's Department of Communication.
