When Gwen Raccoon is embarrassed by a failing math grade, she begins piling up lies to cover her mistakes and protect herself. But as her dishonesty grows, so does the trouble it brings. Through her mother’s honest example and Gwen’s own confession, children see that telling the truth can be hard, but Jesus welcomes those who repent and gives them strength to walk in honesty.

Edward T. Welch, MDiv, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and faculty member at the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF). He earned a PhD in counseling (neuropsychology) from the University of Utah and has a master's of divinity from Biblical Theological Seminary. Ed has been counseling for nearly forty years and has written extensively on the topics of depression, fear, and addictions. Joe Hox was raised on a farm in southern Iowa where he doodled whenever he wasn't spading thistles or bottle-feeding calves.
