Hampshire Folk Tales for Children by Michael O'leary
In this treasure trove of tales, storyteller Michael O Leary has collected stories from the Hampshire Downs (which are up), the New Forest (which is old), the copses and coppices, fields and farms, villages, towns and cities of Hampshire.
Michael O'Leary is a professional storyteller who has authored several folk tales books for The History Press. After leaving school he spent a life wandering, working in Ireland, Norway and Greece before settling in Hampshire. In his thirties, he studied Geography before becoming a primary school teacher, where he honed his storytelling skills. Michael has always been fascinated by the relationship between stories and place, and as a storyteller travelled extensively, telling stories everywhere from Crossmaglen in South Armagh to Prague to botanical gardens in New Zealand.
