Bond, Bob: - Bob Bond is a Lancastrian but escaped some time ago to set up home on the Sussex coast. He began sketching soccer stories 60 years ago, for Fleetway Comics in London and for Scottish publishers, DC Thomson. He has been drawing footballers ever since for books, magazines and newspapers. Bob's wife thinks he's retired, but while she's out shopping, he sneaks into his studio and still draws cartoons for various publications. He has written and drawn comic-strip histories of several bigger English clubs. Because Bob still follows Preston North End from afar, he looks older than he really is. He also suffers from an inferiority complex, having a son who is a much more talented artist than himself.
