"… easy-to-read … full of sound suggestions … includes an excellent reminder of the basics of English grammar … the contents give the underpinning basics of science communication in its many forms"
-Ashley Clarke, Leeds University, UK, Physics World, February 1999

Wilson grew up in East Tennessee, where he was born and raised. He's always been fascinated by the history of the Scotch immigrants who settled the Tennessee Valley. His forefathers arrived in the valley over 200 years ago. His familiarity with the region and its history aided him in writing from the heart. It also permits him to create imaginary characters based on people he has met.

He has spent his life writing, genealogy, golfing, hunting, fishing, camping, and visiting the mountains and streams of East Tennessee's Southern Appalachian Mountains. He left the United States of America. After 36 years as an Engineering Systems Manager for the Forest Service, His involvement in the design and construction of the Ocoee Whitewater Center, which hosted the 1996 Summer Olympic whitewater competitions, was a career highlight.

His time with the Forest Service also allowed him to study the outdoors and obtain a comprehensive grasp of man's interaction with environment. He grew up hearing wonderful stories from his grandma and other historical storytellers. His writing demonstrates a deep personal understanding of regional history, which he weaves into his characters. His story will make you laugh, cry, and astonish you with the beautiful images he portrays.
