Handel's Warthog Music: Nonsense in Music by Simon Drew

On this occasion he turns his attention to the subject of music and applies his very special talents to the many aspects of this topic in a totally unexpected and entertaining way. Once again the author delights in knocking convention off its pedestal or tilting at the commonplace with a clever and literal use of language linked to his superbly executed drawings. Gifted with a fine sense of fun and a rich imagination, Simon Drew enjoys playing around with words to achieve outrageous results. With its delightful and highly original collection of verbal and visual puns, this eagerly awaited title will both amuse and stretch the imagination. Everybody and everything is fair game in this musical pot-pourri, from the 'Bantam of the Opera' to 'Zadok: The Piste'. AUTHOR: Born in Reading in 1952, Simon Drew studied zoology at Exeter University and then went on to teach biology at a Sussex school, whilst drawing at every opportunity. In 1981 he and his wife Caroline set up a Gallery in Dartmouth, Devon which sells his own work and that of studio potters. (The Gallery has since been selected by the Crafts Council as one of the best in the country.) Here he works mainly in pen and ink, making still life compositions from everyday objects, birds and animals. He has exhibited widely within the UK and his pictures, cards and books are sold throughout the English speaking world. colour throughout
