ROWLING wrote the seven Harry Potter books, which were released between 1997 and 2007. Harry, Ron, and Hermione's enduringly popular adventures have sold over 500 million copies, been translated into over 80 languages, and been adapted into eight blockbuster films. Together with the Harry Potter series, she also wrote three short companion volumes for Comic Relief and Lumos: Quidditch Through the Centuries, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard. In 2016, J.K. Rowling released her first novel, J.K. Rowling returned to publishing for younger children with The Ickabog, a fairy tale whose revenues she is contributing to Covid-19-affected organizations.

She lives with her family in Scotland and is happiest when she is alone in a room, making up stories.
