
The Haunted Cabin Mystery by Gertrude Chandler Warner
The Aldens are going with grandfather to visit his friend, old Cap Lambert, a retired riverboat pilot who lives in a cabin in the woods. To get there, the Boxcar Children take a wonderful trip down the Mississippi in a paddlewheel boat. But when they arrive at Cap Lambert's cabin, they find some mysterious things are going on. Gary Reed has been the writer of Deadworld for about the last 75 issues. His series of the horror classic have earned numerous award nominations including three wins in the Ghastly Awards. Vince Locke was the original Deadworld artist and after leaving the book, worked on Neil Gaiman's Sandman before illustrating A History of Violence which became a feature film. Stuart Kerr was the original writer on Deadworld and along with Ralph Griffith, also created two other long running series, The Realm and Oz. Mark Bloodworth worked on the early Deadworld before winning a Ghastly Award for his artwork on Deadworld: The Last Siesta. Paul Daly has had extensive work in the role playing game field as well as lending his realistic style artwork to a number of projects. Galen Showman was the artist for Gary Reed's Renfield and also illustrated the Justice League's Age of Wonder. Troy Nixey, known for his Jenny Finn has moved into film making with the release of his movie, Don't be Afraid of the Dark. Ron McCain was the first illustrator on the popular Dead-Killer character in the pages of Deadworld. Ron went to work on Batman after leaving Deadworld.
