She is a native of upstate New York's north country but has many fond memories of family vacations in the adjacent New England states. Her nostalgic recollections, along with a lifelong interest in regional history and the paranormal, prompted her to accept the challenge of writing about the strange phenomena of a state she believes may be the most haunted of all--Massachusetts. Farnsworth is retired and lives in Massena, New York, with her family.
