The Hawk Dancer by Diana Saville
Claire married young, and for the last 20 years she has been protected by, and completely subservient to her husband. When she offers to keep a friend's hawk, and is drawn into the creature's training, she begins to understand the nature of predators, and embarks on an affair herself.
Diana Saville went to Oxford and worked as a literary agent before moving to the West of England with her husband. She designs gardens and has written several gardening books, as well as two novels.
