he was the sun by Lauren Vinn
Love, friendship, grief...secrets. A boy who learns to view life through an extraordinary lens from a girl who desires nothing but normal. The pair meet weeks before their 18th birthdays, made more important by supernatural legacies and a decision that has the potential to change their lives. The sun rises - but it also sets. And happily ever never may just be the perfect ending. The first in a stunning new fantasy series.
Lauren Vinn was born in London, and now lives in Cambridgeshire. She is currently studying A-level English, History and Sociology at Sir Harry Smith Community College, with a place confirmed to study English Literature and Writing at university. During the first lockdown of 2020, Lauren explored her passion of writing by penning this, her first novella, ‘he was the sun’. Whilst growing up, writing was, and still is, her favourite thing to do. She believes that words are the most invaluable source of power, and that mum is always right... Always. When she is not writing, she is reading. Or, although aware that this is nothing to be proud of, watching the same few movies and television series on repeat. Above all, something that Lauren enjoys more than anything is surrounding herself with family and friends. She believes that writing, reading and spending time with her loved ones are the things that keep her happy. However, if all else fails, she finds a sunset. This, in Lauren’s eyes, has never failed.
