Tolson, Chester: - Rev. Chester L. Tolson, Ph.D., is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Born in Los Angeles, California, he has served as a senior pastor in San Anselmo, California, Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Rancho Santa Fe, California. He served as an executive for the Presbytery of Los Angeles, as a director for an appeal to raise mission funds for the Presbyterian General Assembly, and as the assistant to the president for Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. For over twelve years, Tolson served as the assistant to Dr. Robert H. Schuller of the Crystal Cathedral Ministries. He is now the executive director of Churches Uniting in Global Mission (C.U.G.M.), a network of churches across all denominations and traditional lines. He lives in Apple Valley, California. Harold Koenig, M.D., is associate professor of psychiatry and associate professor of medicine at Duke University. He is the founder and director of the Center for the Study of Religion/Spirituality and Health at Duke and has written extensively on mental health, geriatrics, and religion. Koenig is board certified in geriatric psychiatry and geriatric medicine. He is the editor of International Journal of Psychiatry in Medicine, a medical research journal, and the founder and editor in chief of Research News & Opportunities in Science and Theology, a monthly international newspaper stimulating research, education, and dialogue in science and theology. Koenig is the author of The Healing Power of Faith and lives in Durham, North Carolina.
