James K. was born and reared in Ohio. Wagner is a graduate of Otterbein University in Westerville and United Theological Seminary in Dayton, where he obtained a doctorate in ministry with a concentration on Christ's Healing Ministry in the Church Today. Six publications on holistic healing were published as a result of his work with the United Methodist Church.
