He helped found Chicago's Congregation Bene Shalom, is a Professor of Jewish Mysticism and Associate Professor of Philosophy, and co-authored This is for Everyone. Chicago Jewish News placed him among Ten Outstanding Jewish Leaders in Chicago in 2007.
