Heating with Wood by Andy Reynolds

This second, expanded edition reflects improvements in wood-fuelled appliances, developments in the type and availability of wood-based fuels and the author's own recent experience of installing and using an automated biomass system. Also includes how to choose, size, install and/or build a wood stove, plus how to obtain, grow and store firewood, health and safety, chainsaws, water heating and cooking with wood.

Andy Reynolds was born in London in 1948 and attended Grammar School in Harrow. In 1964 he took up an engineering apprenticeship. Deciding to leave industry in 1976, he joined the Hertfordshire Constabulary, serving in the Traffic Department and as a Scenes of Crime Officer. He still lives in Hertfordshire. Between 1976 and 2016 Andy also raced classic bikes, including Aermacchi, Seeley AJS and Matchless, Petty Norton, Manx Norton, BMW, Velocette, Paton, Honda K4, and Norton - JAP on real road and race-track circuits all over the UK and Europe. Andy lapped the TT course at over 100mph in practice for the 2008 Senior Classic Manx Grand Prix, and finished 3rd in the 2009 Senior Classic MGP. Andy was best known for his machine preparation, which brought the reliability that enabled him to finish in all but five of the 39 Isle of Man races that he entered.
