Journalist and expert on the history of the countryside, Tom Quinn has written books on everything from fishing, eccentrics and antique collecting, to early aviation and the First World War. He has recently written a book about the children's author and illustrator Denys Watkins Pitchford (better known as BB) and is currently researching a book on eighteenth century follies. A keen gardener, walker and fisherman, the author was deputy editor of Shooting Times and Country magazine, editor of The Countryman and has contributed to a number of magazines and newspapers including Trout and Salmon, The Independent, The Daily Telegraph and The Times. He is currently editor of Country Landowner magazine.
