Help Yourself to French Grammar by Thalia Marriott

"Help Yourself to French Grammar" is a grammar, reference and workbook for post-GCSE and advanced level students. The book is divided into two parts, in the first part basic concepts and topics likely to be encountered at GCSE level are revised and then later chapters explore more sophisticated French usage suitable for A level and first year undergraduates. Each chapter has a specific vocabulary topic and is divided into three sections - a diagnostic section to test existing knowledge of the grammar points to be subsequently covered and which can help students to identify problem areas, a grammar section with lots of examples for reference and a set of exercises to consolidate learning. Answers to all the exercises are given and by means of a "Key to Exercises" students are able to refer back to relevent references and grammar sections when checking their tests, thus allowing students to use the book both on their own and in class. This book contains a vocabulary of relevance to contemporary French and can be used as a reference book as well as a guide to a systematic and practical way of learning French.
