Part comic, part diary, part art and design book, Helvetica is a deconstruction of the world of Nichijou.Keiichi Arawi (1977-) is a skilled illustrator and comic artist. He started creating short stories for Media Factory's Comic Flapper (My Neighbor Seki, 7 Billion Needles) when he was 19 years old. While his first series, KazeMachi, was short-lived, it attracted the notice of Kadokawa Publishers, one of Japan's largest publishers. Nichijou, his short story, earned Kadokawa's 22nd ACE Award for Emerging Artists, and by November 2006, it was serialized in Kadokawa's flagship magazine Shonen Ace on a regular basis.
Nichijou has since sold over a million copies and been adapted into cartoons and video games. Guillermo del Toro chose it as one of the top comics from Japan today for Asahi News' SUGOI Japan project.
