
Margaret Hodges was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1911 and died in 2005. She earned an honors degree from Vassar College and a master's degree in library science from Carnegie Institute of Technology. She was a professor at the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Library and Information Sciences after serving as a children's librarian. Margaret is the author of multiple award-winning children's books. Her art is often based on folktales and historical people.
