Erik Molvar spends half of each year exploring wildlands in the West. He has hiked over 10,000 miles of trails, from the Arctic Ocean to the Mexican border including all of the trails and routes in this book. Erik has a Master’s degree in wildlife management from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, where he performed ground-breaking research on moose in Denali National Park. He currently serves as Executive Director for Western Watersheds Project, a nonprofit conservation group working to protect and restore watersheds and wildlife on public lands throughout the West.
