Lewis, George: - George E. Lewis, The WaterMan, was born in 1934, he currently lives in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, USA. Education Lewis graduated from Wagner College and he earned a master's degree from Rutgers University. He retired in 2000 and took an adult education oil painting class in 2002 and was hooked. He uses only one palette knife, no brushes. Lewis now uses his hobby for humanitarian causes to help less fortunate people around the world. Rotary He is a member of the Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch, FL, USA. Club Service Lakewood Ranch in District 6960 Zone 34. International Service Since 2006, he has raised millions of dollars to help over 2,000,000 people in 37 countries. People, Rotarians, Rotary Clubs and Districts, who buy my paintings, get the extra satisfaction of knowing that they are helping to make the world a better place. The WaterMan. Clubs, districts, zones, and individual Rotaians buy his paintings to use for fundraisers. Each Rotarian that gives $500 is presented a Paul Harris Fellowship as well as the painting of their choice. In Feburary 2016, a book of his paintings with information on polio, water, and sanitation became available for grant funds generation Lewis' Oil 4 Water art book from Olmstead Publishing. The WaterMan has leveraged Rotary International grants and fundraisers through clubs all over the world. Clubs and districts either raise or donate funds and provide the funding for the water projects. Some of the countries whose people have been aided by the monies include; India, Peru, Nigeria, Pakistan, Guatemala, Lebanon, Indonesia, Kenya, Philippines, Turkey, Belize, Mexico, Haiti, Sudan, China, Panama, Israel, Rwanda, Brazil, Congo, South Africa, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Honduras, Italy, Columbia, Ecuador, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Egypt. Community Service Honors He and his wife, Nancy, are Paul Harris Fellows and Rotary International Major Donors. He is also in the Paul Harris Society and the Rotary Foundation awarded him the prestigious honor Citation For Meritorious Service.
