Donleavy, J. P.: - J. P. Donleavy was born in New York City in 1926 and educated there and at Trinity College, Dublin. He is the author of ten novels, including The Beastly Beatitudes of Balthazar B; A Fairy Tale of New York; The Destinies of Darcy Dancer, Gentleman; Leila; and A Singular Man. He makes his home on the shores of Lough Owel in Ireland.
