Krystal Welk is a sixteen year old girl who was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at the age of eight. Currently, she is in school on the mainland, but she always returns to her island home of Maui during breaks. She is pursuing a career in medicine and continues to develop her skill in writing. Aside from her writing, her other interests consist of surfing and wave photography.
