The Horus Road by Pauline Gedge

The battle for Egypt is continued by Prince Ahmose Tao, who following in his father and brother's footsteps is determined to end the Setiu reign. While he leads the Princes of Egypt in a siege against King Apepa's stronghold, Aahmes-nefertari, his wife, takes control of the creation of the new city in Weset which will be the centre of Egyptian rule. Ahmose struggles to contain the flood of Setiu armies pouring into Egypt along the Horus Road to defend King Apepa. When at last the city falls, Ahmose hopes to have the throne of Egypt within his grasp. But Apepa has escaped and Ahmose faces one last challenge before he can take possession of the double crown, a challenge based on love, loyalty, murder, revenge and justice. What price is he willing to pay for the completion of his family's task?
