Hot Dog, Cold Dog by Frann Preston-Gannon

Simple rhyming text and boldly graphic, funny illustrations show off the comically lovable proportions of the dachshund, with its short legs and long body, spirited nature and cheerful temperament. Author Frann Preston Gannon reveals a surprising variety of 'hot dog' looks and shows kids all the fun these little dogs have as they visit the beach, cavort in the snow, dig in the garden, jump to the ceiling and even ride a skateboard - all the while giving a lesson in opposites.

Frann Preston-Gannon is a South London-based illustrator and designer. Vintage Books, Sunday Publishing, the PRCA, Spears Magazine, Pavilion Books, the London Times, and Burt's Bees are among the clients she has worked for since graduating from Kingston University. Her previous picture books, The Journey Home (Pavilion Press) and Dinosaur Farm (Sterling), were both written and illustrated by her. Frann was the first illustrator from outside of the United States to be awarded the renowned Sendak Fellowship. This provided her with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and be inspired by the great artist himself, as well as the opportunity to tour his extensive archives and attend lectures by bright guests.
