The House of Hervey by Michael De-La-Noy
This is a comic and tragic tale of the Hervey family whose gift as builders, diarists and in recent times astute businesmen has left a trail of anecdotes. It reveals a clan which is sometimes at war with itself, with more skeletons rattling in their cupboards than many would care to admit to.
Michael De-la-Noy was educated at Bedford school, whose history he wrote in 1999. He is the author of numerous biographies, including those of Elgar and Denton Welch. He is a contributor to both the Missing Person volume of the Dictionary of National Biography and the New Dictionary of National Biography, currently in preparation. In Who's Who he describes his recreation as 'going for very short walks'.
