The House of Small Absences by Anne-Marie Fyfe
Anne-Marie Fyfe in House of Small Absences (Seren), sets out to explore the familiar as well as the unusual places we choose to inhabit or visit. She carefully captures a setting with all of its colour and detail, but also evokes the spirits of a place, the past or future inhabitants, their various losses, their movements through time
Anne-Marie Fyfe was born in Cushendall, Northern Ireland and lives in West London. Fyfe is a poet, creative-writing teacher, arts-organiser and former Chair of the Poetry Society (2006-2009). Her collections include Late Crossing (1999), Tickets from a Blank Window (2002), The Ghost Twin (2005), Understudies (2010) and House of Small Absences (2015). She founded Coffee House Poetry at the Troubadour, which is now London's liveliest and longest-running literary venue.
