How LEGO-Based Therapy for Autism Works by Daniel B Legoff
Through a series of case histories of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) who participated in LEGO therapy, this book shows how and why this therapy is so effective. The book provides practical guidance and inspiration for professionals working with children to improve their social interaction skills.
Daniel BLeGoff, the inventor of LEGO®-Based Therapy, has provided a colourful set of case studies to help teachers and clinicians get a real feel for how to implement this playful and non-stigmatising intervention with kids with autism. LEGO®-Based Therapy harnesses their strong drive to systemise to help them learn how to socialise. It is also intrinsically rewarding for such kids. As such, it is a pleasurable experience for both the therapist and the child. -- Professor Simon Baron-Cohen, Director, Autism Research Centre, Cambridge University, UK
It honestly didn't feel like I was reading an educational book, it's written so beautifully that its almost like reading a novel. I was enthralled with the case studies that give examples of children taking part in the therapy. Daniel LeGoff has a wonderful way of re-telling his sessions-that makes you feel like you're there in his office with him from the moment the child starts their therapy... I loved that this book was heavily supported by it's large number of case studies; that form an integral part of the book. It makes the book relatable and real. -- senresourcesblog.com * senresourcesblog.com *
