How to Become a Saint by Jack Bernard
"How to Become a Saint" posits that holiness is not the provenance of a special few: rather God intends all Christians to become saints. This perspective on sainthood is not achieved by reducing the expectations for holiness so that everybody is automatically included, but by trusting God to do in us what he has promised to do and wants to do. God carries out his work in us, not as isolated individuals, but as a part of what he is doing with his church.
After serving as a missionary in Belize, JACK BERNARD and his wife Edith helped found a small intentional Christian community, eventually called Church of the Sojourners, which was the context in which Jack wrote How to Become a Saint in 1999. He was diagnosed with cancer in November, 2002 and died less than three weeks later at the age of 60.
