Summary

Celebrating the joys of fishing, this work is about contentment, calm and solitude, rivers and river banks, losing track of time and, of course, the fish themselves. It is also an insight into a life spent getting up at the crack of dawn and, armed with rod and line, and heading for water.

How to Fish by Christopher Yates

How to Fish is an unabashed, unashamed celebration of the joys of fishing. It is about contentment, calm and solitude, rivers and river banks, losing track of time and, of course, the fish themselves. For those who already enjoy fishing it is a love letter to their art and for those who don't - yet! - it is an insight into a life spent getting up at the crack of dawn and, armed with rod and line, heading for water...
Chris Yates is a photographer and author but first and foremost a fisherman. He was first inspired by the discovery of a monster carp in his village pond when he was five. Thirty years later, he caught what was then the biggest carp - and the biggest fish - in England and went on to write about his experiences in books, in his own magazine, in radio programmes and in the BBC2 series A Passion for Angling. He lives in south Wiltshire.
