Carolyn Humphries has a long history as a food writer and editor. She began her work as a chef, but quickly realized that she liked to prepare meals for home cooks. She became a culinary writer for Woman magazine after training as a journalist. She has since written for a variety of publications, authored over 60 books, and served as a consultant, co-writer, and editor on a variety of other projects. She belongs to the Guild of Food Writers as well as the Institute of Health Promotion and Education. She has always needed to feed a hungry family quickly as a working mother and considers the combo microwave to be a terrific utility in her kitchen.
