How to Propagate by John Cushnie
Nowadays, we are inclined to go down to the garden centre to buy anything from tiny cells of bedding plants to 3-metre climbers. But, most of the plants that we grow can be propagated with ease. In addition to the propagation techniques, this book also gives guidance on plant hygiene and how to look after your newborn plants.
John Cushnie has been propagating plants for over 40 years, having started with chrysanthemum cuttings when he was at school and moved on to shrubs, trees, perennials, alpines, house plants and much more. He runs his own garden design and contracting company from Northern Ireland. He is the presenter of BBC-TV's The Greenmount Garden (with a second series recently commissioned) and writes for the Daily Telegraph, Ireland's Homes, Interior and Living and Gardeners' World. His previous books are Ground Cover, How to Garden, Trees for the Garden and Shrubs for the Garden; they have been translated into six languages. He is also co-author of GQT Plant Chooser and GQT Techniques and Tips for Gardeners.
