The Howards of Caxley by Read
The last decade of old Septimus Howard's life sees many upheavals. War comes to Caxley, and his favorite grandson Edward, a pilot, brings home a wife who seems too cold and aloof for the Howard family. The Howards' restaurant in Market Square survives the wartime shortages, but its temperamental manager, Robert, is slipping past the point when eccentricity becomes insanity .Tim Read has worked in the computer business in the United Kingdom since 1985. He joined Sun Microsystems in 1990 and now works for Oracle's Solaris Availability Engineering division as a software developer. Many Sun BluePrints and white papers have been published and coauthored by him, including Building Enterprise Solutions with Sun Cluster 3.0. He graduated from the University of Birmingham with a combined honours degree in physics and astrophysics. He enjoys running, tandem riding, and touring the Outer Hebrides islands in northwest Scotland when he is not working.
