HR Giger by Andreas J Hirsch
Enter a world of haunting power and dark psychedelia with this tribute to the biomechanic visions of HR Giger. The anniversary edition spans the artists painting, sculpture, film design, and unique museum, with an essay by Andreas J. Hirsch, and a biography based on contemporary quotes and Gigers own statements.
“At its essence, Giger’s art digs down into our psyches and touches our very deepest primal instincts and fearsHis art stands in a category of its own. The proof of this lies in the intensity of his work and imagination, which I can only compare to Hieronymus Bosch and Francis Bacon in their powers to provoke and disturb.” * Ridley Scott *
“A magnificent volume, a lovingly designed homage that does justice to the significance of this artist... One thing is certain: most celebrated contemporary artists quickly fall back into obscurity, but HR Giger will remain.” * Weltwoche *
“A disturbingly beautiful tribute to H.R. Giger’s nightmarish work.” * Wired.com *
