Jamaal May is a poet, editor, and filmmaker from Detroit, Michigan, where he worked as a freelance audio engineer and touring performer while also teaching poetry in public schools. His poetry has appeared in magazines such as Poetry, Ploughshares, The Believer, NER, and The Kenyon Review, and has won the 2013 Indiana Review Poetry Award. Jamaal holds an MFA from Warren Wilson College and fellowships from Cave Canem and Bucknell University's Stadler Center for Poetry. Organic Weapon Arts Chapbook Publishing was formed by him.
