I Could Tell You But Then You Would Have to be Destroyed by Me by Trevor Paglen

The critically acclaimed study of the dark side of the US military returns in paperback, featuring 70 military shoulder patches to reveal a secret world of military imagery and jargon, where classified projects are known by peculiar names ('Goat Suckers', 'None of Your Fucking Business', 'Tastes Like Chicken') and illustrated with occult symbols and ridiculous cartoons. Although the actual projects represented here (such as the notorious Area 51) are classified, these patches - which are worn by military units working on classified missions - hint at a world which is kept hidden.

Trevor Paglen (b. 1974 in Maryland) holds a doctorate in geography from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a BA and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is represented by Altman Siegel Gallery in San Francisco and Galerie Thomas Zander in Cologne, Germany, and his work has been displayed in various exhibits. He splits his time between New York City and Oakland, California.
