Sixteen-year-old Jade longs to be famous and gets her chance when she appears on a dating show and wins. Suddenly Jade and her 'date' Rupert are celebrities and they love it. Jade's boyfriend Adam hates what she is doing and ends their relationship, but Jade still thinks that fame is worth it. When the fuss begins to die down Rupert suggests he and Jade get engaged to whip up new press attention. Jade goes along with this until she begins to see the situation for what it is. Pete Johnson worked as an English teacher and a film critic for Radio 1 before becoming a full-time writer. He is well known as a writer across the age range.
