There currently is no cure for Alzheimer's disease-- though it can be treated. For the last fifteen years, John Zeisel, Ph.D. has spearheaded a movement to treat Alzheimer's non-pharmacologically by focusing on the mind's strengths.

John Zeisel is the originator of the Hearthstone Method, an unique and practical approach to dementia care. He is also the president of Hearthstone Alzheimer Care. He founded the Artists for Alzheimer's Disease (ARTZ) initiative, which creates guided museum tours and other cultural activities for Alzheimer's patients. He is a Ph.D. holder. He holds a Ph.D. in sociology from Columbia University and has taught at Harvard, Yale, and McGill University. The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and O: The Oprah Magazine have all featured his work, as well as ABC, CNN, and the BBC. Montreal, New York City, and Woburn, Massachusetts are where Zeisel spends his time.
