The story is about a little girl, mother, friend, and teacher. The story takes place on the farm, home, and at school. The main character can't go to school every day. She misses a lot of school and gets called names. Her mother teachers he life lessons to combat her troubles. Some of the major issues that she deals with are being teased, friendship issues, and academic confidence. By reading this story children and families will learn valuable life lessons and watch as the little girl achieves big goals.
Tarjei Vesaas wrote several novels, poetry collections, and a collection of short tales that won an international prize in Venice in 1952. He won a number of additional awards and was nominated for the Nobel Prize in 1964, 1968, and 1969.
