On 18 June 1815 some 200,000 men fought in what would be the most important land battle Europe had ever seen, the Battle of Waterloo. Mark Simner is a graduate of Birmingham City University and a postgraduate of the University of Portsmouth. He has been interested in British military history since childhood, having been a keen researcher in the field for the past twenty plus years. In 2007 he founded the Victorian Wars Forum, and following its success he established the Napoleonic Wars Forum in 2011.
