W.J. Dempster is a retired surgeon who has a long-standing interest in Darwin's life and, as it were, the 'origin of the Origin'. He is the author of An Introduction to Experimental Surgery Studies (1957) and Patrick Matthew and Natural Selection (1996). W.J. Dempster currently lives in Lockerley, Hampshire.
