Margaret G. is a writer who lives in the United States McKeown, PhD, is a Clinical Professor of Education in the School of Education and a Senior Scientist at the University of Pittsburgh's Learning Research and Development Center. Her work addresses real-world issues that instructors and children encounter in the classroom. In the fields of reading comprehension and vocabulary, Dr. McKeown has performed research in the areas of instructional design and teacher professional development. She has received the International Literacy Association's Outstanding Dissertation of the Year Award as well as a Spencer Fellowship from the National Academy of Education.

Dr. McKeown formerly worked as an elementary school teacher, where she taught reading and language arts. Bringing Words to Life, Second Edition, and Building Robust Vocabulary are two of her coauthored books.
