In Search of Andalucia by Christopher Wawn
Approaching the province of Malaga in southern Spain from the unusual aspects of its complex historical and geographical factors combined, taken town by town, this book avoids the temptation to over romanticize the area.
Christopher Wawn was born in London and grew up in the Cambridge area. He has a degree in History and Geography from Keele University, which gave him a good understanding of man's impact upon the environment and landscape. His Army service helped develop a spatial awareness and the love of open space. His career brought him to Gibralter in 1987, where he met his future wife, and decided to stay. Today he works in the Offshore Private Banking sector. David Wood was also born in London. His humorous articles and stories have appeared in magazines both in England and Spain over many years. After working for almost twenty years in the Royal Mail in England, he and his Gibraltar-born wife moved to southern Spain in 1989. He has two grown-up children and now works in the holiday/leisure industry. Michelle Chaplow is an award-winning freelance photographer who lives in southern Spain. Specialising in travel and tourism, her photo-journalism has appeared in books, magazines and newspapers across Europe and the USA. Michelle was awarded the prestigious photography contract by the Spanish National Tourist Board to document the coast of Andalucia.
