They provide me with courage, inspiration, and enormous joy. I've been telling stories at the Hans Christian Andersen statue in Central Park for thirty years. As my audience enters stories, I enjoy seeing their eyes light up. Tales allow us to travel to the farthest reaches of the universe and into the most intimate parts of the human heart.
They open doors to possibilities. They allow us to experiment with various emotions and characteristics. Gardening, dancing, swimming, painting, and making up stories with music are some of my other favorite pastimes. Rachel Zucker, my daughter, is a poet, photographer, and mother to a young son named Moses.
