Harriet Castor was first published by Puffin at the age of 12 when she submitted her manuscript FAT PUSS and became their youngest published author. At the time she was training as a dancer, and then went to Cambridge. Subsequently she worked as an editor at Usborne and Puffin. Her first adult novel, FIREBIRD, was selected for the 1998 WHSmith Fresh Talent Promotion.
