
Introducing Walter Benjamin by Howard Caygill
Follows the life and work of Walter Benjamin, tracing his influence on modern aesthetics and cultural history, as well as his particular focus on the tension between Marxism and Zionism, and between word and image in modern art.
Howard Caygill is currently lecturer in the School of Economic and Social Studies at the University of East Anglia. He has previously been ESRC postdoctoral fellow at Balliol College, Oxford and British Academy postdoctoral fellow at Wolfson College, Oxford.
