Forrest Baird has been a Whitworth professor since 1978. He lectures for Fuller Theological Seminary in extension programs around the West during the summers, in addition to teaching a range of philosophy courses. Dr. Baird has a bachelor's degree in biology. a M.Div. from Westmont With a B.A. from Fuller and an M.A. from Harvard,
Claremont Graduate University awarded him a Ph.D. in philosophy. Dr. Baird has been named Most Important Professor by five graduating classes and Teacher of the Year by his colleagues throughout his career at Whitworth. While a Resident Fellow at the Center for Ecumenical and Cultural Studies at St. John's University, Dr. Baird researched the subject of evil. He studied Chinese philosophy at St. John's University and Abbey in Collegeville, Minnesota.
The six-volume Philosophic Classics series is Dr. Baird's most recent scholarly endeavor. Other publications include editing Human Thinking and Action: Readings in Western Intellectual History and co-authoring Introduction to Philosophy: A Case Study Method with Jack Rogers.
